Vaasthu means a place of living. In Sanskrit it is called "Vaasysthalaha Ithi- Vaasthu". Therefore our place of living is called the Vaasthu Sthala and the Science dealing with it is called Vaasthu Shastra. In ancient days, Man lived in Cages and huts. While living in cages he thought he should make himself comfortable allocating different places for different purposes. Whether Man or animal, they not prefer to make use of the same place for all the purposes. A place of living is not only a shelter against rain and hot sun, but also a complete resting place to make him fully relaxed by the proper sources of energy around him. There are five different types of energies.
They are namely the wind energy, water energy, magnetic energy, cosmic and radiational energy. Ever from the primitive days, these sources of five energies ( PANCHABOOTHAS) were of uniform and routine nature that play vital role in organising your place of living.
